to write is to feel.

I am not a writer.

And by that I mean I am a terrible writer. Copy, poetry, bios, short stories, not my forté at all...

BUT I am a writer.

And by that I mean I love to write. The feeling of putting a pen to paper, different pens, the colors, words, their compositions, letterforms, typography, each letter and it's unique characteristics.

My love of writing has always been there. Ask my mom and dad how many times in church they would look over and there I was writing. Typically never about what was actually going on in church, rather different words or names that flowed out of my pen in an unusual way.

As my writing evolved I became more intentional about my day to day handwriting in high school and through out college because it could "speak for me" and my style.

Today I have the pleasure of being able to do hand lettering and "write" as a part of my business. From wedding invitations to branding projects people have begun requesting my writing and it blows my mind.

When it comes down to it, I guess I wanted to throw out there to everyone, never think that some thing you love is trivial or unimportant. You never know how a passion may evolve over time. Don't give it up. Keep on loving what you do, it just might turn into "work" that is not work at all some day.
