While in the comfort of my mom's Trailblazer backseat riding back from Charlotte I thought I would share the yard sale project Tiffani and I did for her new apartment. If I do say so myself, Tiffani's apartment is turning out awesome and these tables were a fun find. They have an art deco feel to them and fit the "feel" of the apartment great. We found these two side tables and the coffee table for $20!
Here's what we did:
The pieces were dirty, yucky and the glass that came in them were tinted brown.
First we cleaned and sanded them down. I used my Ryobi hand sander with a 120 sand paper grit. While sanding
started brain storming about what to do with the brown tinted glass.

Second we painted them. We found an awesome restoration paint called Old Village. I highly recommend it if you are looking for great coverage and even coats in a paint. It is the best paint I have ever used in refinishing furniture and will never go back to any other brand.
Once we got to Charlotte we still hadn't figured out what to do with the glass. I had tiles cut to go in them - they didn't fit or look right. We thought maybe wood squares painted white would look good but we weren't in love with the idea. When we were at Lowes buying other project supplies we finally figured it out. While looking at the drop cloths and I saw a huge piece of drop canvas for $8. I knew we could cover the glass and accent the browns in the room great with it! So here is the finished products!

Happy Refinishing friends!
